PROJECT 3 : ANALYZE A CLIENT'S NEEDS FOR THEIR FILM FESTIVAL
Learn how to translate the needs of a client into a clear, attainable solution!
Jennifer Viala is the organizer of the Outdoor Film Festival. She aims to select and screen outdoor auteur films from August 5 to 8 at Parc Monceau in Paris.
Outdoor movie screenings come back to fashion!
Its association has just been created and has a limited budget. She needs to communicate online about her festival, announce the projected movies and collect bookings.
Here's what she says:
My association 'Les Films de Plein Air' has just been granted permission to exhibit at Parc Monceau this year from 5 to 8 August each evening, from 6 pm to midnight. I would like to introduce auteur films to the general public.
I need to communicate on the upstream festival and I need for it an online presence with a website. On this site, for which it will be necessary to find a graphic charter, I need to present the festival, the list of films and to communicate regularly on the latest news of the festival.
Access to the screenings will be free and open to all but I wish that the public can pre-register to estimate the number of people present each evening.
I wish to have a professional address in .com or in .org: I take advice on the best choice for the address and I do not wish to take care of the accommodation.
As a developer, you are asked to list the functionalities the client needs and to propose a suitable technical solution. Therefore, you must select the solution that you feel is best suited to your needs.
You will then have to make a first version of this site corresponding to its expectations.
Project Specification Document (PDF)
Full source code of the project (HTML / CSS and other necessary files, zipped)
Speaking in real condition, you will present your project. Your mentor will play the role of the client.
The defense is as follows:
The presentation of your specifications and your prototype of the site in HTML and CSS: 15-20 minutes
A moment questions / answers: 10 minutes
Your mentor will resume his mentoring role at the end of your 'appointment with the client' to debrief with you for 5 minutes.
